Holy Moly Russ, I am so sorry I did not think about sending that link to you or posting it here. I guess the part where you said you had only heard part of the songs did not register...duh! Glad you found them in profile and again I'm sorry I just did not think!

Have you heard his other song Mysterious Woman? That is in my profile there too. I really like it too, rock it out Sundance!

I'll let you off this time Roo! Just kidding, don't worry about it. It was actually a nice surprise to find it. Nazi Lobster's lyrics are real interesting. I could talk for days about that song. When I first read the title I thought it was a strange name but I get it now...at least I think I do. And that's some deep stuff to write about at 16 years of age. As is 21 Gun Salute. The Crayon King has to be my favourite though. Incredible song.

Oh and yes I am familiar with Mysterious Woman, very cool song. Although I think it's just a demo isn't it? Either way I like it. I think I said earlier in this thread that it's Sundance's ad-libs that make that song for me.

Well I got a copy of The Crayon King today! Thanks to a massive gesture from a friend of mine, the one and only Roo! Legend. And I'm loving the album. Almost finished my first full listen through the album and there's not a bad song on there. It's really accomplished stuff considering how young the guys were at the time. I'm surprised things never took off for them. I guess it was partly due to lack of promotion, hopefully Sundance's solo stuff & duets album will get decent promotion from Universal/Motown. There's a few pics of the guys on the back cover too which are pretty cool.

Thanks again Roo, you're a star.

I reckon they gave it a sneaky listen at Customs before sending it on it's way! I bet they'll take a look at my copies of The Dam Concert DVD and the duet album too!

I added a little review of The Crayon King on cdbaby following Roo's if anyone wants to take a look.

I could have said a lot more, only they like you to keep it brief. I wanted to talk about each track and share my views on it.

5 stars though obviously!

Great review Russ! I'm so glad you like the cd. It really is amazing considering how young all the band members were at the time. I would imagine there was just not enough bucks for promoting. Sundance really does have great vocals and I can't wait for a new cd!
